Oregon Coast Kite
Lincoln City, Ore. is a resort town on the coast known for glass blowing, a casino and kites. From my hotel room overseeing the ocean, I was able to capture the single kite passing over the horizon.
Afghanistan Bird Cage
I traveled to Kabul, Afghanistan, in April of 2008. We toured a deserted pool that had been constructed by the Russians during their occupation during the 1980s. One of the locals had a bird cage that they put down at the corner of the pool and I thought it provided a perfect focal point for the photo.
Unsinkable Molly Brown
The city of Northglenn's Northglenn Youth Theatre puts on performances every few months with children and teenagers from the area. I've been taking photos of some of their final rehearsals, including this one from "The Unsinkable Molly Brown."
Lincoln Dunk
This photo comes from the Colorado Class 4A State Championship of 2008 in Boulder. Typically, with a play like this, I stop shooting after ball has left the player's hands, but with this I wanted to try and catch the moment when the ball is going through the hoop and just keep going. When I started going through the photos, the ball-in-the-hoop photos was actually pretty boring - but I had the shot of the player going crazy on the rim while all his opponent can do is get out of the way.
2008 Rocky Mountain Color Guard State Championship
The Rocky Mountain Color Guard is a wonderful event to take photos. These high school and college teams perform synchronized acts with creative and colorful outfits.
Pavilion Goat
My wife's grandparents owns a farm in Pavilion, Wyo., which includes lots of sheep, chickens and goats. Being basically raised in the city, it took me a little while before I was convinced the goats weren't going to mistake my fingers for food.
Broomfield Shortstop
A lot of taking sports photos is knowing the sport well enough to anticipate what is going to happen. But there's no anticipating the shortstop making a throw in the middle of the air.
Chair
This photo was originally going to be for a small business guide, but didn't quite work out. I wanted to get a photo of this indoor board room without using the flash, so it didn't have that bitter shadow or unnatural lighting. I know the subject matter isn't very exciting, but this photo was about expanding photographic capabilities.
Candy Man

Like the chair photo, this was about taking a different kind of picture, with a different subject matter, while capturing a more natural look.
Shop Northglenn
The City of Northglenn needed a logo for their 'Shop Northglenn' campaign. The city has a set of standard colors that are used for design projects from which I designed this logo from. I was going for a department store style with this logo - something classy, yet eye-catching.
